What can you do while staying safe indoors?

Things to do online while self-isolating in Jersey City

We are in an unprecedented time with the coronavirus upending our daily lives as we know them. It is vital to be listening to the health and medical experts while staying safe indoors as much as possible and practicing good hygiene. When being indoors so often, it can sometimes feel cumbersome or tiresome, especially if you are not used to being inside this much. Let’s look at a few things to do online while self-isolating in Jersey City.

Tools for shopping for a vehicle online

Support local businesses from a distance

A lot of businesses, especially those considered “non-essential” as well as restaurants, will take a hit with this. There are ways, however, you can still support them. Many businesses sell gift cards online, so, for example, if you’ve been meaning to see a movie out at AMC Newport Centre 11, you can still go to their website and purchase gift cards to use later one when the crisis has passed.

Many restaurants are also offering takeout or delivery, so if you wish, that is an option as well. Skinner’s LoftPorto Leggero, and Cellar 335 are among the many restaurants in the area offering takeout or delivery options.

Stream entertainment

Some streaming services are offering discount codes for new members so people can have new forms of entertainment while being inside during this crisis. While it is vital that we all stay properly informed on what is happening, it is also important to take your mind off things for a while to keep from getting stressed out. Popular streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Shudder, and more typically offer free trials or discounts to try their services.

Learn something

Do you have a guitar that has been sitting in the closet that you have been meaning to learn to play? Fender is offering three months of online lessons for free. For aspiring computer programmers out there, Spark Databox has a number of free online courses on the offering. There are a lot of learning opportunities out there, so give that a shot if you wish.
